Welcome to Old Grammarians Rugby Football Club your friendly, local rugby club, situated at the top of Green Dragon Lane.
Old Grammarians Rugby Football Club was founded in 1929 by former pupils of Tottenham Grammar School. It has had quite a nomadic existence over the years, in Enfield and Tottenham before settling at our present home in Winchmore Hill, which we share with Middlesex University.
The club is open to rugby players of all ages and abilities and we field several sides, (including senior, junior and mini rugby teams) and has a lively social membership. We pride ourselves on our hospitality and members enjoy regular social functions, as well as trips to major rugby matches and plenty of opportunities to talk rugby in our club bar.
In August 2016, Old Grammarians gained affiliation to to the Rubgy Fooball Union (RFU).
This a fantastic achievement and further proves our on-going commitment to the future growth and development of Old Grammarians.
Our seniors (two teams and casual players) train on Thursday evenings (7.30pm – 9pm) and have a full calendar of local fixtures. Our pitches are floodlight and we have good changing facilities.
New players are always welcome. Please call Dave on 07932 310865 to find out more about our senior membership.
The aim of the Old Grammarians Youth Section is to promote Rugby Union to all young people wishing to play the game. The club has in place Child Welfare and Protection Policies that have been endorsed by both Middlesex RFU and the RFU and everybody involved in our Youth section has attained Criminal Records Bureau accreditation. Our coaches and referees are all RFU qualified and have a wealth of experience in the game, so you can be confident that you will be training in a professional, safe and friendly environment.
We have a lively youth section, with Under 15s, Under 14s and Under 13s. Our young players receive first class training, with an emphasis on learning skills, team play and of course safety. We have a regular fixture list as well as the opportunity to participate in youth tournaments. We are pleased that many of youth players continue to play the game at school and at university. We love to welcome them back during their uni breaks!
