"Many of us have no idea what it's like to be thirsty. We have plenty of water to drink -- even the water in our toilets is clean!

But many people around the world don't have that luxury. Every day, about 1,400 children die from diseases caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation.

But it doesn't have to be that way. There are simple solutions like drilled wells, spring protections and BioSand filters that help provide clean water to communities around the world".

A quote from the charity:water page set up by sister and brother Eimear and Mark Walsh of The Winchmore, to support clean water projects.

Here are Eimear and Mark at a charity: water event, launching The Winchmore water campaign.

Let's end the water crisis together

a £20 donation will provide clean water for one person for life

The pub gave up serving bottled water (glass and plastic) in November 2018 and installed a Pure Water filtration system in their cellar; with two chilled water pipes running from cellar to bar.

Water is now served in beautiful reusable glass bottles, which are £3 cheaper for customers than the previous branded bottles, with free refills.

Sales are up 125% since the launch and all the profits go to charity: water. So far the pub has raised £5,000 and and the Walshes expect to donate £7,500 to drill their first well for a community in Africa/ India or Nepal in the next couple of months.

This is not the end of this year's charity targets, Mark will be completing the Three Peaks mountain challenge in 24 hours on 19 July and he also set himself another challenge, cycling across Burma off road in October!
