Cooking Champions: feeding the 10,000
Winchmore Hill Sports Club have opened up their kitchen to a community interest company called Cooking Champions. Set up by Clare Donovan, working with a team of 5 - 6 volunteers each day, Cooking Champions have been working throughout the lockdown period. They have been producing meals for people in need of a hot meal in the local area and NHS staff. They are currently producing a staggering 1700 meals a week and hit 10,000 meals this week (26.5.20)!
This short video on the Cooking Champions Facebook page will gladden your heart.
Cooking Champions are working closely with the Felix Project, but are also crowd funding to buy ingredients. Sadly the need for support isn't falling and Cooking Champions want to be able to support the community for as long as possible. The next big push will be applying for grants and fundraising.
So come on N21 please dig into your wallets!
